Displayed at the venue of the exhibition were photos documenting the feats of Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also on display there were works of the peerlessly great men, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and fine art works associated with wisdom and talents of the Korean people.

Present at the opening ceremony were personages of different social standings in Guangdong Province and Zhouhai City, an official of the DPRK embassy in Beijing and a delegate of the Korean Overseas Exhibition General Bureau.

The chairperson of the Federation of Literature and Art Circles in Zhouhai City, Guangdong Province in a speech said that it was a pleasure to hold the DPRK cultural exhibition in Zhouhai City associated with the footsteps of Kim Jong Il for the first time on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the President.

China and the DPRK are the friendly neighbors linked by the same mountain and rivers, and the peoples of the two countries have forged the deep friendship, he said, adding that the exhibition will mark a significant occasion in boosting the China-DPRK friendship.

The exhibition will last till April 28.
