Present there on invitation were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, Jong Yong Su, minister of Labor who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Iran Friendship Association, Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.

Speeches were made there.

Mansour Chavoshi said that April 15, the birthday of the President, is the day of the sun when the great changes were achieved and epochal phase opened in the history of the revolutionary struggle of the Korean people.

The foundation of the DPRK was more firmly cemented thanks to leader Kim Jong Il, the ambassador noted, adding that Iran always supports the Korean people in their struggle to defend the country's sovereignty and gains.

He expressed belief that the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un who is realizing the noble desire of the preceding leaders would bring about progress and prosperity of the DPRK.

Yang Hyong Sop said that it is an expression of the boundless reverence for Kim Il Sung that the Iranian friends are significantly celebrating the Day of the Sun together with the Korean people every year.

He expressed the firm stand of the DPRK government to invariably strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations with Iran associated with the noble feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He said that the DPRK will extend firm support and solidarity to the Iranian government and people in their struggle to resolutely smash the sanctions of the hostile forces and their military threats.
