Present there on invitation were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and minister of Higher Education of the Education Commission, Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the C.C., the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Palestine Friendship Association, and officials concerned.

Ismail Ahmed Mohamed Hasan said in his speech that the President set an example which would serve as guidelines in the struggle of the oppressed people to win freedom and independence.

The President forged intimacy with HE Yasser Arafat and set a good example of the revolutionary obligation in the struggle for national liberation, he said, adding:

The Palestinian people are always standing by the Korean people who are struggling to attain the aim for building a thriving socialist nation while overcoming all difficulties and hardships under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Choe Thae Bok said that it is an expression of the reverence for Kim Il Sung who made an immortal contribution to the human cause of independence that the Palestinian friends are celebrating the Day of the Sun together with the Korean people every year.

The President rendered sincere assistance to the people of various countries who are fighting for independence and sovereignty, justice and peace with the noble obligation of internationalism, thus making a great contribution to the cause of human liberation, he said, adding:

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to strengthen the militant friendship and unity between the peoples of the two countries associated with the noble intention and precious feats of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
