The medal is to be awarded to the best domestic products which are of world competitiveness while benefiting the local people in practice.

Pyongyang liquor has been selected as its first awardee.

Produced at the Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory, the liquor has specially suave and aromatic flavor, with 30 or 40 percent of alcoholic content.

Choe Hyon Sil, chief engineer of the factory, told KCNA that the factory had paid big efforts to raising the technique and skills of the employees and introduced a unique brewing method to improve the aroma and taste of the liquor.

Pyongyang Liquor has always emerged a winner at various domestic shows and festivals.
