The Syrian newspaper Al Thawrah said in an article titled "Kim Il Sung, history shining with Songun leadership":

The life of Kim Il Sung, the prominent man of the world political circles in the 20th century, is shining by his Songun leadership.

He founded the Juche idea and the Songun idea and pioneered the cause of independence by arms.

Another paper Al Baath said in an article titled "Cause of global independence and President Kim Il Sung" that the exploits he performed for the cause of global independence will shine forever.

The Syria TV Channel aired a special program on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, introducing in detail the exploits of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il with videos dealing with their revolutionary activities.

The Central Radio of Syria broadcasted a special program under the title of "On the occasion of the birth anniversary of HE President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people".
