Hundreds of thousands of different saplings are growing in more than 150 nurseries and over 1,500 hectares of land have been registered as cultivation area.

More than 880 hectares of land have been reclaimed for herb cultivation in Taedong, Mundok and Songchon counties in South Phyongan Province while over 700 hectares of herb garden are under cultivation in Pyoksong, Kangryong, Ongjin and Samchon counties in South Hwanghae Province.

Koryo medicine pharmaceutical factories and herb farms in North Phyongan Province have paid deep attention to raising varieties of medical plants.

In the meantime, gathering of mature herbs has been pushed forward throughout the country.
