The work, published on April 9, Juche 63 (1974), comprehensively deals with matters arising in bringing about a signal turn in the public health service by applying the original idea of President Kim Il Sung on the public health.

Present there were officials concerned and medical officials, scientists, technicians, teachers and postgraduates in the sector of the public health. The symposium was held, divided into such panels as internal medicine, external medicine, Koryo medicine, sanitary and anti-epidemic medicine, basic medicine and pharmacology.

Published there were more than 400 medical science papers.

The participants heard successes made in diagnosing and treating various diseases through laboratory and clinical studies in recent years and experience gained in putting the preventive treatment on a modern and scientific basis as required by the IT age and further rounding off the telemedicine system.

Papers issued by 27 persons were estimated for their great practical significance. They included Nam Hye Yong, Han Kwang Hyok, teachers of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University, Pak Hwi Myong, postgraduate of the college, Choe Kon Il, doctor of Kim Man Yu Hospital, Pyo Hae Nyong, researcher of the medical instrument institute of the Academy of Medical Science, and Paek Un Jong, doctor of the National Hygienic and Anti-epidemic Center of the Ministry of Public Health.
