Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest Closes

| Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest closed with due ceremony at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. It opened on April 1 on the occasion the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. In the basketball games men of the April 25 Sports Team and women of the Amnokgang Sports Team won the first place, men of the Kigwancha Sports Team and women of the April 25 Sports Team came second and men of the Sobaeksu Sports Team and women of the Kigwancha Sports Team third. In the volleyball games men and women of the April 25 Sports Team placed the first, men of the Amnokgang Sports Team and women of the Pyongyang Sports Team the second and men and women of the Sobaeksu Sports Team the third. Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned and those in the sports field and sportspersons. |
