Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The Polish branch of the Korean Friendship Association sent letters to the Foreign Ministry of Japan and the Japanese embassy in Warsaw on April 27 in protest against the Japanese authorities' suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). The organization has followed with deep concern the Japanese authorities' act to seize the Korean Hall of Chongryon and stamp out the movement of the Koreans in Japan, the letters said, and went on: We strongly denounce the Japanese authorities' act as an outrageous one seeking a sinister purpose. Koreans in Japan are victims to Japan's policy of colonial occupation of Korea, and their descendants. The Japanese imperialists illegally occupied Korea for more than four decades and imposed upon Koreans immeasurable sufferings. Although decades have passed since the defeat of Japanese imperialism, Japan has not yet made an apology or reparation for the crimes. More serious is that the Japanese authorities, quite contrary to the laws of Japan, usual practices of court and primary usages in proceedings of auctions, let the Tokyo District Court make an illegal decision on allowing the sale of the Korean Hall of Chongryon and has persistently resorted to crackdown on Koreans in Japan to attain their mean and wicked political purposes. We demand the Japanese authorities immediately stop such a fraud move of infringing upon the dignity and the right to existence of the Koreans in Japan. |
