Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea held the 146th meeting for peace and disarmament in front of the Defense Ministry on April 29 to denounce the puppet authorities for their frantic moves for confrontation with the fellow countrymen in collusion with outside forces. Speakers at the meeting said the chief executives of south Korea and the U.S. let loose foolish remarks to pressurize the north during their recent meeting. Pressed by the U.S., the authorities raised again the issue of concluding a military agreement with Japan which had been secretly pushed forward in the period of the Lee Myung Bak regime, the speakers said, and went on: It is a mean plot to push forward the issue of concluding the agreement in the form of the memorandum of understanding in fear of provoking the anti-Japanese feelings of the people. If a military agreement with Japan is concluded, the south Korean army will be shackled to the "Self-Defense Forces" of Japan in such fields as information and operation only to back Japan's exercise of the "right to collective self-defense". South Korea should not conclude a military agreement with Japan which is trying to exercise the "right to collective self-defense", far from making an apology and reflection on its past crimes, they said, stressing they will never allow the conclusion of the agreement. |
