Tradition of Unity Carried Forward in DPRK
|
|
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- It has been 78 years after the birth of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland in Korea. It, founded by President Kim Il Sung on May 5, Juche 25 (1936), was the first anti-Japanese national united front in Korea. The Association made great contributions to liberating Korea from Japan's colonial rule, as it helped rally the anti-Japanese forces of different social strata under the banner of patriotism and build up the driving forces of the Korean revolution. This tradition of unity, established during the anti-Japanese struggle, has been creditably carried forward in the annals of national development. After Korea's liberation on August 15, 1945, all its people turned out to build a new democratic country in hearty response to Kim Il Sung's call that those with strength should give strength, those with knowledge contribute knowledge and those with money donate money in doing so. United close around the President, the Korean people defeated the U.S. imperialists, boasting of the strongest in the world, in the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953 Korean War) and turned the country into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence. Leader Kim Jong Il opened up a new era of unity by creditably inheriting the revolutionary idea of the President. When the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was undergoing the grim trials, he called upon all the people to strive in one mind and purpose for making the country more powerful and prosperous. In response to this appealing and patriotic call, they made a new history of thriving Korea after overcoming all difficulties. Today the DPRK is making great innovations and rapid progress in the struggle for the final victory of the Songun (military-first) revolution under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un, who kindled the flame of displaying Kim Jong Il's patriotism in all aspects of society. Rallied closer around their supreme leader, the DPRK people will surely build a thriving country of Juche, a highly-civilized socialist power. |
