Participating in the festival are designers, teachers, researchers, technicians and members of the three revolution teams at more than 130 units including designing and industrial art studios, educational and scientific research institutions.

Displayed and published at the festival are designs of machines including latest machine tools, mining and electrical machines, vehicles, construction, textile, foodstuff and farm machines and research data for development of designing technology and support programs for machine designs.

The festival also involves a prize contest in designs of all kinds of tools, sensors and control devices for building integrated control system and putting production processes on unmanned and CNC basis, designing of equipment necessary for renewable technology of energy and raw materials and renewing resources, etc.

There will be a contest in multi-dimensional designs, lectures on the trend of the development of machine designing and latest technology and technological exchange and service for latest designing technology data and exhibits.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ri Jong Guk, minister of Machine Industry, Choe Sang Gon, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, officials concerned, officials and other people of the machine designing and industrial art studios, educational and scientific research institutions.

At the end of the ceremony the participants went round the venue of the festival.
