The expo was opened on April 25. It brought together many units from 37 countries including the DPRK and various parts of China.

The DPRK wing is drawing an endless stream of visitors fascinated by wonderful Kimilsungias and Kimjongilias in full bloom.

An awarding ceremony was held on May 6 with figures of the expo organizing committee and delegates of various countries attending.

The Gold Prize and certificate were handed over to the head of the delegation of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee.

The executive head of the organizing committee for international horticultural contest of the expo said:

Kimilsungia is, indeed, a beautiful flower.

The flower was awarded the Gold Prize this time in the wake of its receipt of top prizes at the 2011 World Horticultural Expo in Xi'an, China and other expos. It proves once again that Kimilsungia is a famous flower recognized by the world.
