People from all walks of life in south Korea erected a peace monument in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul for the first time on December 14, 2011 as part of their actions to force Japan to settle its crimes.

Since then similar monuments have been erected in Koje of South Kyongsang Province and Koyang and Songnam of Kyonggi Province amid fiercer anti-Japanese actions across south Korea.

Speakers at the ceremony noted that the Korean nation is demanding Japan prevent the recurrence of its past crimes and make a legal apology and reparation for them.

They declared that they would conduct more dynamic actions for the reinstatement of the victims to the sexual slavery and human rights and expand them worldwide.

They called for vigorous solidarity actions until Japan redeems its past crimes.
