Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Preparations for rice-transplanting are gaining momentum in co-op farms in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Ministry of Agriculture and the agricultural offices in provinces, cities and counties have taken timely measures needed for rice-transplanting on the basis of detailed survey of its preparations in co-op farms. Big efforts are directed to managing rice seedbeds in a scientific way in conformity with their specific features. Farms have given priority to reconditioning existing irrigation facilities and improving waterways in order to ensure adequate water supply. They have also pressed ahead with the work to secure spare parts of farm machines, including rice-transplanting machines. Meanwhile, precedence is given to watering and harrowing paddy fields. |
