Minju Joson Accuses U.S. of Posing Nuclear Threat to World

Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Tuesday in a commentary brands the U.S. as the arch criminal posing a nuclear threat to the world. According to a recent disclosure made by a high-ranking officer of the U.S. Navy, it decided to additionally introduce ten high-performance nuclear subs of "Virginia" class till 2018. To this end the U.S. is expected to spend 17.6 billion US dollars, the biggest contract in its history. The U.S. is planning to outlay 60 billion U.S. dollars in the modernization of nuclear weapons for over 20 years, even according to the data available. According to the report of a U.S. social body, the above-said amount of money is just the tip of the iceberg of the funds that the U.S. is going to spend to bolster up its nuclear force for decades to come and billions of U.S. dollars are required for building new facilities for making nukes and the same amount of dollars for the development of subs, etc. This clearly proves how persistently the U.S. is working to realize its wild ambition to put the world under its domination, obsessed with the doctrine that nuclear weapons are almighty. It is the invariable strategy of the U.S. to realize its scenario to put the world under its domination on the basis of its military edge. What merits a more serious attention is that the U.S. modernization of its nuclear weapons is openly being carried out under the signboard of "nuclear disarmament". However, such trick will not work in such a bright world. The U.S. persistent efforts to modernize its nukes behind the curtain of "nuclear disarmament" would only entail the baneful consequences of escalating the nuclear arms race worldwide. The U.S. would be well advised to ponder over the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by such a reckless move and halt it at once. |
