S. Korean Regime Slammed for Encroaching upon Freedom of Expression

Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- More than 10 media, teachers and human rights organizations of south Korea including the Teachers Union held a press conference in protest against the puppet group's encroachment upon freedom of expression, according to south Korean CBS on May 12. In the press conference, speakers said that the authorities are deploying policemen in the Jindo Gymnasium and other parts and threatening those sponsors of the rally for honoring the memory of the victims of the ferry Sewol sinking disaster while watching bereaved families and citizens. The Broadcasting and Communication Committee is enforcing news censorship and the ministries and agencies of the regime are quelling the people's anger through internet, they charged. They urged the authorities not to encroach upon freedom of expression related to the ferry sinking accident. |
