After penetrating into the requirements of developing Juche-oriented literature and art, leader Kim Jong Il initiated its filmization in April Juche 57(1968), as part of efforts to make a radical turn in developing the literature and art.

He gave detailed guidance to making the movie of "The Sea of Blood" from the composition of its script to its direction and filming.

Thanks to his energetic guidance, the film "The Sea of Blood" was successfully produced, touching the heartstrings of all people from its premiere.

The film still serves as a textbook in developing the Juche-oriented literature and art as it fully embodies the requirements of the Juche idea in its content, form, film-making and other fields.
