Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Popular at World Horticultural Expo
Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- The 2014 World Horticultural Expo goes on in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, starting on April 25. The theme of the exposition is "Let life approach to nature".

According to In Jong Hui, an official of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, the exposition brought together 37 countries, including the DPRK, Netherlands, Denmark, France, Thailand and Malaysia, and 31 provinces and Hong Kong and Macao of China. Its participants are to compete with each other in show of such flowers as iris and chrysanthemum and decoration of houseplants.

Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia win great popularity at the exposition, and a gold prize of the exposition was awarded to Kimilsungia in the competition of tropical orchids on May 6.

Many people have visited the Korean wing of the exposition, where Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia, called flowers of the sun, are on display, expressing their deep impressions.

Among those people were Ken Starkman, career and technical education dean of Long Beach City College, and Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec, chairholder of UNESCO Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design, who expressed their admiration at the beauties of Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia.

The Korean wing is crowded with thousands of visitors almost every day.
