Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- First-term camping began at the Songdowon International Children's Camp, which was remodeled on the eastern coast of Korea as a monumental edifice in the era of the Workers' Party of Korea, an embodiment of the Juche-based idea of architectural beauty. Seen in the square of the camp are the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il with broad smile on their faces, who show fatherly love for pupils of the DPRK and various countries of the world in the park of the camp on the seaside with sweet briers in full bloom, taking children to their arms. There are campers' buildings, which bear resemblance to a windship on the right side of the statues and buildings housing a room for education in Kim Jong Il's patriotism, a theatre, an international friendship children's hall, etc. on the left side. The camp has a playground with roofed terraces, an outdoor stage, indoor gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, outdoor archery ground. What catches one's eye is an aquarium with various species of rare sea creatures and an aviary for disseminating the knowledge of animals and plants. The camp also boasts of a sea resort installed with a floating diving tower and an outdoor wading pool with big slides. It is one of the edifices representing the outlook of the Workers' Party of Korea on the rising generation. |
