Rodong Sinmun on U.S. Nuclear Arms Buildup

Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- The Defense Intelligence Agency under the U.S. Defense Department recently announced a report that the DPRK has developed a technology to load nuclear weapons on inter-continental ballistic missile capable of reaching the western area of the U.S. And the U.S. Missile Defense Agency requested Congress to approve the budget of 75 million U.S. dollars, much more than 30 million U.S. dollars it allotted as the initial budget last year to deploy long-range identification radar to cope with ballistic missile "threats" from the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a commentary in this regard: It is a revelation of the U.S. vicious strategic attempt to justify its moves for nuclear arms buildup under the pretext of "threats" and "provocation" from the DPRK and ignite a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula at any cost. The U.S. is seeking to deploy huge armed forces and even marine corps into the waters off the peninsula. It is aimed to have the command of sea, hold an absolute edge of nuclear and missile equipment and thus wage a blitz war in case a Korean war breaks out. The U.S. is pulling up the DPRK over its steps for self-defence. This is nothing but a poor ploy to label the DPRK as "provocateur" and justify its nuclear arms buildup and war provocation. The DPRK will never remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. putting spurs to moves to provoke a nuclear war while talking about "threats" from the former. The DPRK does not want a war but is never afraid of it. The U.S. can never evade the criminal responsibility for bringing clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the Korean peninsula. |
