Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) launched a sit-in strike on May 18 demanding a probe into the truth about the ferry Sewol tragedy and an enactment of a special law, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Voice of People. The organization held a press conference in Chonggye Plaza in Seoul where they declared they would launch a sit-in to demand a probe into the truth about the tragedy due to the irresponsibility and incompetency of the "government", and to call Park Geun Hye to account. Park and other conservative ruling forces made such thoughtless remarks that "people are ignorant", far from making apologies to the bereaved families who had to see their beloved children dying, it said and went on: The ferry disaster was caused by the easing of regulations and the conspiracy between the capital and power for making money. If this is allowed to go on, the people will continue to meet grievous deaths in the railway field and at hospitals, schools, factories and construction sites. There is nothing to expect from the authorities any more as they brand the people set out to correct wrong politics as "wicked rioters", the organization said, vowing to fight it out until the Park "regime" steps down. |
