Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold diverse political and cultural functions praising the revolutionary career and exploits of President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of his demise and give wide publicity to the struggle of the Korean people achieving big successes in the building of a thriving nation and the standoff with the U.S. under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
