A political report of the meeting said tensions persist on the Korean peninsula due to the U.S. interference and provocative moves and urged the U.S. to stop at once threat and blockade against the DPRK.

A statement on peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula was adopted at the meeting. It said the peninsula is becoming the biggest hot spot in the world owing to the hostile policy towards the DPRK pursued by the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces.

It demanded the U.S. withdraw its hostile policy towards the DPRK immediately and unconditionally halt reckless moves for a nuclear war and conspiratorial moves targeting the DPRK in order to establish a lasting peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean peninsula.

It went on:

We strongly demand the south Korean authorities stop at once heinous anti-DPRK confrontational moves, root cause of distrust and disaster of war, mend the inter-Korean relations in the idea of By the Korean National Itself and accept the sincere and rational proposals of the DPRK to reunify the country.

We extend invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people and youth in their just struggle to independently and peacefully reunify the country and build a thriving socialist nation without fail.

The World Federation of Democratic Youth is firmly convinced once again that the world progressive people and youth and students loving peace against war would condemn the hostile policy towards the DPRK pursued by the U.S. and its followers and actively join the Korean people and youth in their struggle for defending independence and justice.
