Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu Starts

Hyesan, June 4 (KCNA) -- School youth and children across the country set out on the study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of victory in the battle in the Musan area commanded by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. They had a kick-off meeting in front of the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province on Wednesday. They laid a floral basket and flowers before the statue of Kim Il Sung of the monument. A report was followed by speeches. The reporter and speakers said the study tour would offer a good occasion for all school youth and children to keep the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu created by the President and glorified by leader Kim Jong Il as the soul and lifeline of the Korean revolution and carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche. After the meeting members of the study tour group started the march towards Pochonbo. They arrived at the area where the battle of Pochonbo was fought under the command of the President. They presented a floral basket and bouquets before his statue standing on the side of Karim stream. They looked round the command post of the battle, the then police substation of the Japanese imperialists, the sub-county administrative office, the post office and so on. They held a bonfire gathering on the side of Karim stream that evening. |
