S. Korean Workers to Launch General Strike

| Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- The Huimang Solidarity Trade Union under the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference in Seoul on June 2 to declare a strike, according to the south Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye. At the press conference speakers said the company side is mulling cutting down wage 20 percent, adding they can never accept it. Wage hike and good working conditions are important, they said, calling for staging actions for the basic rights of the people. They warned they would launch a general strike to have the demand of the trade unions met. |
