Wreaths Laid before Statues and Grave of Kim Hyong Jik

Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Wreathes were laid before the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement of Korea, in Ponghwa-ri, Kangdong County, Pyongyang and his grave in Mangyongdae on Thursday, the 88th anniversary of his demise. Seen standing before the statue and grave were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and Ro Tu Chol, vice-premiers, chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel, working people and school youth and children. Laid before the statue and grave were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK. Also placed there were wreaths in the name of armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, revolutionary schools and educational institutions, and party and power bodies, enterprises and farms in Pyongyang. The participants observed a moment's silence, looking back on the revolutionary career of Kim Hyong Jik who put forward the idea "Aim High" and devoted himself to the country and the nation. Wreaths and bouquets were also laid before his statues at Kim Hyong Jik Military Medical University and in Sakju and Junggang counties on the same day. |
