Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the brilliant revolutionary career of the President and his immortal exploits through media and hold political and cultural events including remembrance meeting, lecture and seminar on his exploits in the period between June 8 and July 8.
