The adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration holds a distinguished place in carrying out the cause of Korea's reunification.

The idea of By Our Nation Itself set forth in the declaration serves as a principle to be taken as guidelines in implementing the cause of Korea's reunification.

The reality clearly proves the validity of the idea of By Our Nation Itself, its great vitality, scientific accuracy and truth.

If the south Korean authorities truly hope for detente on the Korean peninsula and improvement of the relations between the north and the south, they should respect the June 15 joint declaration and take practical measures to implement it.
