Rice-transplanting Ends in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Rice-transplanting has been mainly finished across the country. Agricultural workers of the Chongsan Co-op Farm in Kangso District, Nampho City, the Migok Co-op Farm in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province, the Tongbong Co-op Farm in Hamju County, South Hamgyong Province, the Unhung Co-op Farm in Thaechon County, North Phyongan Province, the Samjigang Co-op Farm in Jaeryong County, South Hwanghae Province, the Sinam Co-op Farm in Ryongchon County, North Phyongan Province and the Mangyongdae Vegetable Farm in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang City took the lead in rice-transplanting. Farms in Pyongyang, North Phyongan and Jagang provinces mainly finished rice-transplanting till late May. Officials of Mangyongdae District, Sunan District, Sinuiju City and Kwaksan and Pakchon counties went to the farms and strengthened technical guidance to correctly ensure the number of plants per phyong and the number per plant. Agricultural workers and helpers transplanted strong rice seedlings every day from the beginning of rice-transplanting. South and North Hwanghae provinces mobilized all machines and manpower to push forward rice-transplanting qualitatively. Co-op farms in the east coastal and tableland areas reasonably distributed manpower and conducted socialist emulations of work teams and sub-work teams, registering successes in rice-transplanting. North Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces fulfilled their daily quotas for rice-transplanting. Agricultural workers and helpers across the country are now directing bigger efforts to manuring and cultivating crops. |
