KCNA Commentary Terms U.S. Theory of THAAD Hypocritical

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- It was reported that recently the issue of adopting the U.S.-sponsored memorandum of understanding for military information sharing among the U.S., Japan and south Korea was officially agreed upon. The U.S. claimed the MoU would be "limited to information about nuclear and missiles of north Korea". This is another sophism mocking at the international community including the regional countries. The tripartite military information sharing pushed forward by the U.S. is part of the prearranged operation to hasten the establishment of the missile defense system in the Asia-Pacific region under the pretext of "threats" from the DPRK. As known already, the U.S. has pushed forward in real earnest the establishment of the MD, a core project for implementing its strategy for dominating the Asia-Pacific region. The tripartite information sharing is aimed at rounding off the MD in the long-run. The assertion that the "MoU will be limited to information about nuclear and missiles of north Korea" is intended to play down the south Korea-Japan friction, a hurdle lying in the way of building the missile shield, in a bid to make its stooges readily accept it. One of its important objectives is to calm down the opposition of the regional countries. However, no country would be taken in by the "U.S. fiction about nuclear and missile threats from north Korea". The operational sphere of various type latest monitoring or intercepting means which the U.S. has deployed in south Korea and Japan and is mulling selling to them under the pretext of coping with the "threats" from the DPRK has already gone beyond the Korean peninsula. Supposing that THAAD which the south Korean puppet forces are going to secretly introduce from the U.S. was developed to destroy flying objects in outer space, Global Hawk the plan for whose introduction was announced by it has an operation radius of thousands of kilometers. This clearly indicates that the targets of THAAD are none other than big powers in the Asia-Pacific region. The U.S. criminal moves to establish the MD will touch off greater caution and opposition of the regional countries. |
