Japanese Organization Supports DPRK-Japan Inter-Governmental Talks

Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The National Association for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Diplomatic Relations released a statement on June 6 as regards the fact that the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks were held some days ago. The statement expressed support for the Japanese side which clarified again its will to realize the normalization of diplomatic relations with the DPRK. It stressed that the normalization of the Japan-DPRK diplomatic relations is certainly needed for helping settle the historical issue peculiar to the two countries and, at the same time, achieving peace and stability in Northeast Asia. It said that Japanese people should have a correct understanding of it, not make the road opened by the diplomatic authorities prove fruitless but support the Japan-DPRK talks leading to the normalization of diplomatic relations. Noting that it is important for Japan to lift restrictions on visits of persons, special measure of restrictions taken against the DPRK regarding money remittance and money carried by visitors and the embargo on the entry of the DPRK-flagged ships with a humanitarian mission into the Japanese ports once the DPRK side sets up a "special investigation committee" for the comprehensive survey and starts it, the statement called upon the Japanese people to positively support it. |
