Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- An article titled "Torch kindled in Pochonbo" was posted on a website of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism on June 5 on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the victory in the Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Noting the victory in the battle was a great event as it humbled the pride of the Japanese imperialists who styled themselves an "emperor" of Asia, the article said: The torch kindled in Pochonbo served as a beacon of national rebirth as it instilled into the Korean people optimism and conviction that Korea was not dead but alive and they could liberate the country if they fought. The Korean people held General Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the leader of the nation and savior of national rebirth, firmly convinced that he would surely bring about the day of Korea's liberation. The torch kindled in Pochonbo strikingly demonstrated the steadfast will of the Korean revolutionaries to pioneer and advance the revolution with arms. |
