Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of service personnel, working people of all social strata, school youth and children, overseas Koreans and foreigners visit the Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification.

The monument was erected on August 14, Juche 90 (2001). Since then more than one million people of over 8 000 organizations visited it.

The monument reflects the strong desire and will of all the Koreans to reunify the country at any cost guided by the three charters for national reunification advanced by President Kim Il Sung.

It portrays two women attired in Korean dress running toward each other with their arms open while shouting hurrah for reunification.

There are groups of subsidiary theme sculptures divided into parts of the three principles of national reunification, the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the hurrah for reunified Korea at the platforms of the tower.

The monument to the President's proposition on reunification was erected in the plaza of the monument.

Heads of state and political and social figures of over 50 countries and regions, a lot of organizations and figures of south Korea and abroad donated nearly 830 stones to the tower.

"Long live General Kim Jong Il, the lodestar of national reunification!" and "We will carry out the June 15 and October 4 declarations to achieve the independent reunification by Our Nation Itself!" and other letters carved on the stones reflect the strong aspiration and desire of Koreans to achieve the reunification of the country without fail under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
