From the first days when he started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK, he formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and transformed the whole society as required by Kimilsungism.

He was a revolutionary comrade-in-arm who remained most loyal to the President. He assisted the President in his leadership over the party, state and army with loyalty.

After the President suddenly passed away, Kim Jong Il inherited and developed the Juche idea and the Songun idea founded by the President, thus comprehensively establishing the Songun politics, a new political mode.

The DPRK could smash the imperialists' pressure and war provocations against it and become a legitimate satellite manufacturing and launching state and a nuclear weapons state under his leadership.

He wisely led the struggle for achieving the national reunification and thus provided two north-south summits and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration, the programme for implementing it, were adopted.

The Korean people are significantly marking the historic June 19, the day when Kim Jong Il started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK to add shine to his great exploits for all ages.
