Koreans in Japan Call for Turning Out in Nationwide Movement for Reunification

Tokyo, June 13 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and other Koreans from all walks of life in Japan posted articles on websites ardently calling for turning out in a nationwide movement for reunification on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. So Chung On, director of the International Affairs and Reunification Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, noted that all Koreans hope for the reunification of the country, earnestly longing for the June 15 era of reunification. The only way for the Korean nation to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity is the one indicated by the June 15 joint declaration and the one of By Our Nation Itself. An Pyong Ok, vice-chairperson of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, called for dealing a sledge-hammer blow of justice at the Park Geun Hye group of south Korea by the concerted efforts of all women in the north, the south and abroad. Ri Han Su, permanent adviser to the above-said association, underlined the need to put an end to the pain resulting from the division of the country, saying he would make every possible effort to usher in the second June 15 era of reunification in order to hand down the reunified motherland to the posterity. Kim Cha Dol, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, said that the Korean youth and students in Japan will become pioneers of the era, pillars of a reunified country and vanguard of struggle and thus take the lead in the movement for solidarity and alliance for ushering in the second June 15 era. Yun Pyok Am, vice-chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, called on all Koreans to get united under the banner of By Our Nation Itself by pooling all their wisdom and efforts and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification as early as possible. Kwak Tong Ui, chairperson of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, said the only way for warming up the frozen north-south relations and paving the way of peace and reunification is to implement the June 15 joint declaration. Kwak called on all overseas Koreans earnestly hoping for national reunification to turn out in the efforts to open up the second June 15 era. Son Hyong Gun, chairman of the Japanese Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration, said it is necessary to preserve and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration in order to tide over the present difficulties facing the north-south relations. Kim Ji Yong, chairwoman of the south Korean Democratic Women's Association in Japan, said the June 15 joint declaration indicated the way for overcoming the painful situation where the Korean nation remains divided, adding the way is to independently settle the reunification issue in the idea of By Our Nation Itself. |
