He said that the north-south summit, the first of its kind in the history of Korean division, was held in Pyongyang in June, 2000 and the joint declaration on achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country was adopted there.

He went on:

Eye-opening events unimaginable in the past took place in the relations of the north and the south of Korea after the publication of the joint declaration.

The October 4 Declaration, the programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, was published in 2007, opening a brighter prospect for Korea's reunification.

The June 15 era of reunification which had steadily advanced faced the grave challenge of the Lee Myung Bak group of south Korea.

The present north-south relations are being deteriorated by the Park Geun Hye group of south Korea.

The peaceful reunification can be achieved only when the June 15 joint declaration is preserved and implemented.

The denial of the joint declaration will trigger off only confrontation and war.

The Park's group should lend its ears to the voices of not only all Koreans but humankind calling for respecting and thoroughly implementing the June 15 joint declaration.
