Speakers said that the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration was an event specially recorded in the national history as it ushered in a new era of independent reunification.

The June 15 event common to the nation proposed by the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration failed to take place due to the obstructions of the south Korean authorities, they noted.

Joint military exercises aimed at invading the north are being ceaselessly staged due to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and the south Korean puppet forces following it, rendering the situation on the Korean peninsula extremely tense, they noted.

They called for checking and frustrating the anti-DPRK moves of the anti-reunification forces and build a peaceful world.

The June 15 joint declaration reflects the basic principle and way of national reunification, they said, calling upon all Koreans in the north, the south and abroad to make every possible effort to usher in the second June 15 era under the banner of By Our Nation Itself.
