Service Personnel Touring Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu Vow to Continue Marching to Mt. Paektu

Samjiyon, June 16 (KCNA) -- The service personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) participating in the study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu held a meeting in front of the statue of President Kim Il Sung of the Samjiyon Grand Monument on Monday. Present at the meeting were officials of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces and the members of the study tour group. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of the President and paid tribute to him. At the meeting Om Hyang Chol, chairman of the KPA Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report. The reporter said that the study tour provided young service personnel with an important opportunity to deeply grasp once again the personality of the President and leader Kim Jong Il as the peerless great men, the revolutionary forerunners' spirit of devotedly defending the leader and their indomitable fighting spirit through their life experience. He called on all service personnel to wage a more dynamic struggle for national reunification and the final victory in the cause of accomplishing the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche under the leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un, enshrining the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu as the eternal lifeline of the Korean revolution. Then followed speeches. Speakers renewed their resolution to firmly prepare themselves as modern day guerrillas of Kim Jong Un, tightly holding arms for devotedly defending the leader and the country in the spirit of Mt. Paektu to fulfill the pledge made in the sacred Paektu plateau and thus continue marching to Mt. Paektu. |
