The statement said:

The north-south summit took place and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration for Korea's reunification was adopted in June, 2000 in Pyongyang.

However, the U.S. imperialists and south Korean warlike forces have steadily waged anti-DPRK moves for a war of aggression and kicked up the racket for confrontation with the fellow countrymen, totally denying the June 15 joint declaration.

Korea's reunification should be achieved independently and peacefully by the efforts of the Korean nation without any interference by outside forces.

To this end, it is necessary to withdraw all the U.S. troops and nuclear war equipment from south Korea and remove interference by outsiders and danger of a nuclear war and create atmosphere of reconciliation and peace between the north and the south.

The DPRK has continuously made sincere efforts to achieve independent and peaceful reunification of Korea while firmly defending sovereignty of the country and nation against the aggressive maneuvers of the U.S. imperialists and their stooges.

We support the Korean people in their just struggle for national reunification.
