The Solidarity Committee of Unionists for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea in Austria said this in a statement on June 12 to mark the 14th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Noting that constant provocations and war exercises for aggression against the DPRK should be stopped at once, the statement went on:

HE Kim Il Sung, the eternal President of the DPRK, put forward many proposals for national reunification and leader Kim Jong Il devoted himself to the reunification of Korea.

To mend the north-south relations and implement the joint declaration is in line with the interests of the whole Korean nation.

We demand the south Korean authorities do not take part in the war exercises for aggression against the fellow countrymen.

We urge the south Korean authorities to set free all the patriots and immediately lift the fascist "Security Law".

The south Korean authorities should ensure the independent rights of the people and respect the activities of trade unions.
