Koreans in the U.S. held a ceremony marking the 14th anniversary of the joint declaration in Los Angeles on June 14.

At the ceremony speakers called upon all fellow countrymen to do their best to implement the joint declaration, bearing in mind that it is the landmark indicating the target, principle and way of reunification.

Then followed a lecture under the title of "Now is the time to make a breakthrough in south-north relations."

The lecturer said that committees for implementing the joint declaration were formed in the north, the south and overseas. June 15 organizations were formed in the central and western parts of the U.S., Washington and New York to hold events on the occasion of the declaration every year and demonstrate the will for reunification, he said, and went on:

The Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea brought to naught the achievements made in the June 15 era and incited confrontation with fellow countrymen and the Park Geun Hye regime also resorted heinous confrontation policy and blocked the improvement of the south-north relations. Koreans in the U.S., experienced the past military fascist regime which intensified the "yusin" rule after the publication of the July 4 North-South Joint Statement, are sharply following the movement of the present regime of south Korea.

Koreans in New York held an event on June 15 at which they demonstrated the will for reunification.
