Rodong Sinmun praises him as a distinguished statesman who developed the WPK into an invincible revolutionary party with his brilliant wisdom and extraordinary leadership which no one can match.

He wisely led the work to imbue the whole party and society with one ideology and thus developed the WPK into the party of the leader, powerful political staff of the Songun revolution and mother party serving the people, the paper says, and goes on:

He is the greatest man and a great sage of revolution who created a contemporary example in building a revolutionary party and brought about an epochal change to be specially recorded in the national history in all sectors of politics, military affairs, economy and culture with his profound ideologies and theories and through energetic leadership for half a century.

His Juche-oriented idea and exploits for party building are being successfully carried forward and developed by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The paper calls for glorifying Kim Jong Il's idea and exploits and bringing earlier the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of building a thriving country under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Minju Joson says that the idea and cause of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il will be successfully realized and the WPK will display its dignity and might as the eternally glorious party of the Generalissimos as it is led by Kim Jong Un.
