DPRK Players Prove Successful in 16th Asia Youth Athletic Championship

| Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- DPRK players proved successful in the 16th Asia Youth Athletic Championship held in Taipei of China from June 12 to 15. The championship brought together more than 400 men and women players of 34 countries and regions including the DPRK, China and Japan. The DPRK players bagged one gold and one silver and two bronze in the championship. O Song Mi placed first in the women's 1 500 m race. Ju Ok Byol finished runner-up in the women's 3 000 m hurdle race while Kim Ji Hyang and Jang Un Hwa came third in the women's 5 000 m race and the women's 3 000 m hurdle race. The DPRK players returned home on Thursday. |
