Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life in south Korea are strongly urging Mun Chang Guk to give up his candidacy for the puppet prime minister. The Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun's Nation grouping more than 120 organizations and the Citizens Federation for Economy and Justice held press conferences in Seoul on June 16 respectively. Mun staged the charade of making an apology for his past reckless remarks but this was nothing but a poor excuse, they charged. They urged Mun to give up his candidacy of his own accord. The Council of the south Korean Buddhist Jogye Order also held a press conference in Seoul on June 17 at which it demanded the withdrawal of the designation of a candidate for "prime minister". 105 Christians on June 18 issued a declaration in protest against the designation. At least 20 lawmakers from the Democratic Alliance for New Politics on June 17 started one-by-one demo demanding Mun give up his candidacy of his own accord. They held that the designation of Mun is contrary to common sense and an act of inviting international disgrace. |
