Park Geun Hye appointed Pak Hyo Jong, who took the lead in praising pro-Japanese dictatorship, chairperson of the Broadcasting and News Agency Committee of south Korea, the editorial noted, adding:

Pak Hyo Jong is a core member of neo-conservative circles who beautified the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea as the "period where modern civilization was studied and realized", preached the "theory of modernizing the colony" and steered the publication of pro-Japanese historic textbooks.

The appointment of Pak Hyo Jong is a blatant challenge against impartiality of the broadcasting services and history.
