The statement said:

Comrade Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people, started work at the C.C., the WPK on June 19, 1964.

He led the work to eliminate the anti-party, counter-revolutionary forces and uproot all unsound ideological trends including capitalism and revisionism within the party and published famous works such as "On the Juche Idea," thus developing in depth the Juche idea, the guiding idea of the party.

Working at the C.C., the WPK, he wisely led the work of all fields, including ideology, politics, economy, military affairs and culture.

He developed the WPK into the mother party taking good care of the people in a responsible manner.

When socialism collapsed in various countries in the late last century, he made sure that the WPK held higher the red flag of socialism.

We highly laud the undying feats he performed in leading the WPK.
