Kimjongilia and Korean Photo, Book and Handicrafts Exhibition Opens in Russia
Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of Kimjongilia and Korean photo, book and handicrafts exhibition took place at the Ussuriysk City Museum of Maritime Territory, Russia on June 18 to mark the 50th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Displayed on the front wall of the venue of the exhibition were portraits of smiling Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. Also displayed there were more than 100 potted Kimjongilias.

On display there were photos dealing with exploits Kim Jong Il performed in building and leading the party.

Also exhibited there were works of the Generalissimos and supreme leader Kim Jong Un, publications introducing Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean people.

Present at the opening ceremony were figures of all social strata and masses of Russia.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK consul general in Nakhodka and staff members of the consulate general.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the portraits of the smiling Generalissimos and paid tribute to them.

A deputy mayor of the city said that Kim Jong Il was a great revolutionary and politician who made undying contributions to the development of the Korean revolution and the WPK, and conducted energetic activities to steadily develop the traditional Russia-DPRK friendship.

The deputy mayor expressed the will to make positive efforts to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK.

The director of the museum said:

It is a pride and honor of our museum to open the significant exhibition.

Kimjongilias blooming in the far eastern land associated with the footsteps left by Kim Jong Il reflect the ardent reverence of the Russian people for him who made a great contribution to the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

The exhibition will positively make contributions to the development of the relations between the two peoples.

The exhibition will last until the end of June.
