The Russian paper Nakhodkinski Rabochi said in an article titled "Party and army form an integral whole" that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into a powerful guiding force for the revolutionary cause of Songun.

The article noted that he put forward the Korean People's Army as the main force of the socialist cause and led it to successfully discharge its mission and role as the standard-bearer of the Songun revolution while making a long ceaseless journey of Songun.

The Russian paper Nidjegorodskaya Pravda in articles titled "Kim Jong Il, outstanding statesman" and "Brilliant commander in era of Songun" said that he always won victories in the showdown with the U.S. with his matchless courage and pluck, iron faith and will and superb military stratagem.

The Bangladeshi paper Blits carried an article titled "Single-minded unity in DPRK and Kim Jong Il". The article said the single-minded unity in the DPRK had been firmly cemented since he started the work at the C.C., the WPK. It went on:

He put the single-minded unity of the whole society on the highest level. The history of his leadership over the party is one of a genuine statesman for the people.

The Bangladeshi paper Bangla Times and the Indonesian paper Suara Karya praised the feats he performed in building and leading the party.
