Women's Union Officials Make Study Tour of Mt. Paektu Area

Samjiyon, July 1 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from June 23 to July 1. They laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung in the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo, the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site and Chongbong Bivouac and the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu in the Paektusan Secret Camp and paid tribute. At the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site the visitors deeply grasped the outstanding military warfare and stratagem of Kim Il Sung who instilled the dawn of national liberation into the minds of the people. They also visited the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac and Konchang Bivouac via the Spring Site in Poso-ri and the Tableland of Junghung. They were deeply moved to visit the township of Samjiyon which has been remodeled beyond recognition. They climbed Mt. Paektu and renewed their will to glorify forever the undying exploits of the peerless great persons and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. After visiting the Paektusan Secret Camp, sacred land of the revolution, they held an oath-taking meeting in front of leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the camp. At the end of the meeting they looked round the historic relics preserved in the old home with much care, being briefed on the fact that Kim Jong Il grew up, hearing gun report of the great anti-Japanese war. During the study tour they held colorful political and cultural events including anti-Japanese guerrilla-style information and agitation contest and question-and-answer study contest. |
